What is included in the ONLINE option?
- Online course instruction is designed and led by the program’s co-author, Kevin D. Washburn, Ed.D.
- Course materials and training are current (updated 2020-2021)
- The online course is open six weeks so participants can enjoy the flexibility of a self-paced course
- Discussion board activities for participants from across the country invite diverse interaction
- Assignments and discussion boards engage participants deeply, allowing time for greater reflection and connections
- Instructor feedback is individualized and timely for every participant
- Two scheduled, optional Zoom sessions give participants direct access to this program’s co-author and course instructor
- Participants familiar with the online Architecture of Learning course will recognize and follow this course’s format easily
- Course materials—The Architecture of Learning: Designing Instruction for the Learning Brain (book); Foundations & Frameworks Basic Course Book (2021 update); Foundations & Frameworks Toolbox (2021 update)—are included in the online course enrollment fee
- Online course enrollment fee: $540 per person (this includes a course fee of $375 and a required course materials fee of $165, includes shipping)
PLEASE NOTE:
This Online Course is an excellent option solely for:
- an individual participating in a curriculum review and desiring an in-depth understanding of the program, or
- a teacher from a school that has a certified F&F Course Instructor on staff, or
- a teacher from a school that has received Foundations & Frameworks Course instruction previously, but does not have a certified F&F Course Instructor on staff; this teacher must commit to take both the Online Course and attend the Advanced Course in January 2026 for the purpose of becoming the school’s certified Course Instructor
- a teacher from a school that is conducting a blended training approach (Online Course + Onboarding Workshop — see FAQ for details)
- a homeschooling parent who will use the program for his/her children only

What is included in the ON-SITE option for schools?
- Course instruction is designed and led by the program’s co-author, Kevin D. Washburn, Ed.D.

- The on-site course is five, consecutive six-hour days
- In-person discussions foster common language and knowledge base among your staff, and explore how implementation can meet the school’s mission
- Assignments and discussions engage participants deeply, allowing time for greater reflection and connections
- Instructor feedback is individualized and timely for every participant
- Course materials—The Architecture of Learning: Designing Instruction for the Learning Brain (book); Foundations & Frameworks Basic Course Book (2021 update); Foundations & Frameworks Toolbox (2021 update)—are included in the online course enrollment fee
- On-site course fee consists of a Trainer Fee (Approximate Fee: $6500—this includes ALL travel, lodging, and meals; fee dependent on current travel rates), AND a Per-participant Fee as follows (this includes a course fee and a materials fee):

- RECOMMENDED IMPLEMENTATION SUPPORT OPTION:
One 1-1/2 to 2-day, in-person implementation support visit by Dr. Washburn in the school year following course completion for training in Beginning Reading and Content Area Reading, plus classroom visits and feedback.
The TOTAL approximate cost to train 12 teachers would be:
$6500 + (12 x $345) = $10,640
NOTE: This fee gives the school one year of free access to the Foundations & Frameworks Basic Course video library AND the Architecture of Learning video library (a $345 value).

What is included in the HYBRID option for schools?
- Course instruction is designed by the program’s co-author, Kevin D. Washburn, Ed.D. and led by the school’s in-house certified Foundations & Frameworks Trainer
- Course materials and training are current (updated 2020-21)
- The Foundations & Frameworks course can be scheduled at the school’s convenience and completed in five six-hour days
- Activities prompt direct discussions that foster a common language and knowledge base among your staff
- Assignments and discussions engage participants deeply, allowing time for greater reflection and connections
- Instructor feedback is individualized and school-specific for every participant
- One-year subscription fee: $345 per school
- Fee includes: one-year access to the Foundations & Frameworks Basic Course video library AND the Architecture of Learning video library
- Course materials ($150 per participant)— The Architecture of Learning: Designing Instruction for the Learning Brain (book); Foundations & Frameworks Basic Course Book (2021 update); Foundations & Frameworks Toolbox (2021 update)—are NOT included in the hybrid subscription
